What is a Board Hop?
On the net they have things called "Web Rings". The Web Ring is a set of Web Sites which belong to a group and set up so that visitors to a site can go on to the next site in the ring with ease.
A Board Hop is a take-off of the Web Ring. Instead of Web Sites you will find a series of message boards as a part of the ring.
What is the purpose of the Board Hop?
Advertising. Sorry, I can't give a simpler purpose than that.
Where are the Rules and FAQs for this Board Hop?
The Rules and FAQs are located at:
The Bulletin Board

The link to the URL for the Board Hop Rules and FAQs is:

How does the Board Hop work?
You will see a message similar to this one on Boards who are a part of the board hop:
Quote:Welcome to the New Bulletin Board board hop.
To All Hoppers: Thank you for visiting my board. Please look at the forums on this board to see if there is anything of interest to you.
The Board Hop is continued in a table located at the bottom of the Main Page to this board (change this part to say where the Next Board link is).
Thank you all very much and remember - have fun. See you at "The Hop".
Next Board
You then read the message and click on the words "Next Board". This will transport you to the next board on the list, it may open a new window or change your page on your screen.
When you are done with viewing the Message Board, go back to the Board Hop on that Site and click "Next Board". You will then be sent to another message board. Remember to save any message boards you like so that you can go directly to them in the future.
How does a persons board benefit from this?
The Members of Proboards benefit by this because it opens them up to new and different message boards with out having to scour through megatons of ads.
The Admins benefit because it brings new people to their boards, they benefit even more whenever they pick up new members from those visiting their boards.
Does the Board Hop thread have to be on a board that accepts non-registered members posts?
Yes it does because the hoppers need to be able to continue on with the hop. If the message board they go to does not allow guests, then only people who are already members can continue on. That defeats the purpose of the hop... to attract new members.
