Board Hop Frequently Asked Questions:
Q. What Is A Board Hop?
A. For me it is hard to explain so am going to post what the administrator of the The Bulletin Board said about his own Board Hop on his own forum:
The Bulletin Board board hop is a tool used for promoting our boards which allows people to visit our boards and see what we have to offer. One of the problems with most board hops is that they require the Hoppers to post a message on every board they visit, every time they hop. This has accumulated quite a large number of useless messages such as "Just Hopping Through" or "Hop, Hop, Hop". On the BB Board Hop, we only ask the Hoppers to post one message on each new board they visit in the Board Hop thread. In that way the admins can see a list of individuals who passed through their boards, with out seeing alot of repeating hoppers. We also ask the Hoppers to look at the boards they go to and try to find, at least, one forum on that board of which they would like to be a member. Now I realize that every board won't have a forum of interest to all Hoppers, and so should the Admins of the Boards who are a part of the hop, but we can still urge the hoppers to try to find just one forum on each board that best fits their interests. There are rules to this hop, as well as policies. Please adhere to the rules and policies as much as possible. . Thank you, Ashmadai
Q. How Does A Board Hop Work?
A. A board hop is basically like a webring except it is for forums. I guess you can view it as a chain of forums who are participating in a particular board hop or maybe board hops in general. The forum owner who is a participant of the board hop must place the board hop code on their forum (i.e. header, footer, some where visable to the board hoppers). If you have it in a place where the board hoppers can not view it or if you do not have it on your forum, than you have a chink in the board hop chain. Than the board hop will not work at all as other forums are expecting visitors from your forum to come to their forum to visit it and preview it as they have done on yours. So, you must remember to place the code on your forum in a visable spot for all board hoppers to view it so that they can continue the board hopping to other forums who are participants of the board hop.
Q. Who Benefits From A Board Hop?
A. The Forum Owner, The Forum Members, & The Board Hoppers.
Forum Owner Benefits: This is a great way to gain more members as it is a preview for the board hoppers (who maybe guests of your forums) to check out your forum and take it for a test drive within the designated board hop forum where they are free to post and ask any questions they may have about your forum and eiether you or your members may answer their questions to the best of their abilities. And you must always look at the board hopper as a potential member so I always say..."Always Treat Them As If They Are Already A Forum Member...As First Impressions Are Always So Memorable And Long Lasting" So, if you treat the board hopper really good and nice...you could possibly have a new member in them but if you treat them poorly, than you can bet your sweet ass that it will turn them off from your forum and it could lead up to a bad reputation for your forum,, you, and your members. So remember to always treat board hoppers with respect and kindness as that will truly lead to a good reputation of your forum, you, and your members which will eventually or possibly lead up to them joining your forum eventually in the near future.
Member Benefits: This is a good way for members of your forum to preview the board hopprs and get to know what kind of person they are and whether or not they would want them on your forum. As you may look to your members as judges of if the board hopper is a good person or not as they (the members) probaly deal with the board hoppers more than you do. So, it could be up to your own forum members who will let you know if a particular board hopper is a good person or not Members also can use the designated board hop forum to get to know the board hoppers better on a more personal level and board hoppers can also ask forum members any questions they may have about how your forum works and whatnot. And what I said about first impressions for forum owners is the same for forum members, always treat board hoppers as if they are already members of your forum. As first impressions are very memorable and long lasting.
Board Hopper Benefits: A chance for you, the board hopper, to preview a forum and get to know the forum owner and it' members as well as post in their designated board hop forum. Where you can ask them any questions you may have about them and their forum. And if you have a really good experince on their forum and like the members and the forum owner(s) possibly could lead up to you joining their forum. But remember they are also previewing you as a potential member and first impressions are always very important as they are long lasting and very memorable. So, remember to treat the forum owner(s) and their members the same way as you would like them to treat you in return, with kindness and respect.
Q. Designated Board Hop Forum/Thread Info:
A. All designated board hop forums/threads must be OPEN TO ALL GUESTS, FORUM MEMBERS, FORUM STAFFERS, & FORUM OWNER(S)!!! As this will be the only forum or thread you have where everyone can interact with each other without no restrictions or limitations.
Q. Forum Owner(s) Reserved Rights:
A. Forum Owner(s) Reserve The Rights to do what is best in their forum and forum member's best interest including banning any board hopper (probaly IP Address) who they feel do not belong on their forum due to poor behavior or mistreatment of the forum members, forum staffers, and themselves (the forum owner(s)). So remember to treat them and their members the same way you would like them to treat you in return...with kindness and respect
Q. Participating Board Hops Forums Terms Of Service & Rules/Guidelines To ALL BOARD HOPPERS:
A. ALL BOARD HOPPERS MUST FULLY READ & UNDERSTAND ALL FORUM RULES & GUIDELINES AS WELL AS ABIDE THEM as you are in a sense a member of that forum, if you are on their forum posting and reading their threads...you are in a sense a member of that forum. Therefore you must abide by their ruels and guidelines. Failure to do so may result in the forum owner(s) banning your IP address from their forum if they feel you are not there for the board hop or their forum.
Q. Where Can I Go For Help & Support In Regards To This Board Hop?
A. You can contact the board hop owner Lady Angelique via the Contact Form and she will try her best to assist you to the best of her abilities.
Q. Remember To Have Fun With This:
A. I personally believe a board hop was created as a way for those participating (Forum Owners, Their Forum Members, & The Board Hoppers) to interact with one another on forums and at the same time have fun doing so. So, have fun doing this and at the same time remember to treat each other as you would others to treat you in return...with kindness and respect. As first impressions can be very memorable. So, have fun and enjoy yourselves!!!

Welcome to the Boardhop, and to The Bulletin Board, Lisa.
The Boardhop is a newish thing to Proboards and it is growing, thank you for becoming a part of it.
The philosophy of the Boardhop is simplistic and it is based upon the more boards which join means the more sites our hop are on. In turn the more sites we are on, the more the members and visitors of those sites will see our link and use it. This brings our boards more traffic, which hopefully will result in the increased memberships of our boards. On other systems the hop met with some success, I suppose it was more successful than some advertising methods... but less successful than others. Hopefully it will meet equal, or greater, results here.
These are your codes:

You have stated that you read the Rules concerning the hop, please remember the hop doesn't work if it is broken... so please stick your code in the main headers or footers... or in the side table of your boards. Some sights like the Board Hop stuff at the bottom of their main page because that means the hoppers have to scroll down the page, which means the hoppers sort of are forced into actually looking at the board.
Good luck with the hop and I will add your boards as soon as I see that your links for the hop are set up.
